The Stage is Set for Product Camp Toronto
This coming Sunday, November 2 marks the first ProductCamp unconference in Canada and third in the world (from what we can tell). In the spirit of BarCamp, ProductCamp Toronto is a collaborative, user organized unconference, focused on Product Marketing and Management topics. At ProductCamp there are no "attendees," since everyone participates in some manner: presenting, leading a roundtable discussion, sharing their experiences, helping with logistics, securing sponsorship, setting up wifi, or volunteering.
This is a self organizing collaborative event and community that is being created through the use of social media sites and services through wikis and other social media outposts (facebook, LinkedIn, Blogs and twitter).
Response and enthusiasm has been phenomenal with about 140 registrations and a community base of 200+ people. We have a terrific team of participating sponsors including Freshbooks, Genuit, Pragmatic Marketing, Red Canary, Riverdale, Ryma Technologies and the TPMA. The unusual event format has piqued the interest of key educators at Ryerson's Ted Rogers School of Management and they have generously donated the venue.
